Artifact Health, which provides the first and only mobile app that streamlines the physician query process, announced today it has been selected by Jellico Community Hospital to implement Artifact's mobile technology for automating physician queries and capturing full reimbursements.
Jellico Community Hospital is a 54-bed acute care facility that operates as a nonprofit hospital and is part of the Community Hospital Corporation family of hospitals. Jellico sought a way to accurately capture physician queries.
With the implementation of Artifact Health's mobile app, Jellico physicians can now respond to a query compliantly in under a minute with as few as three taps on their smartphone. By engaging physicians with a faster and easier process, Artifact drives improvements in clinical documentation, quality measurement and hospital and physician reimbursement.
For example, one response to a documentation-clarifying query can support an increase in additional reimbursement for an inpatient record. Hospitals who have implemented Artifact Health report raising completion rates to nearly 100 percent, helping them secure appropriate reimbursement while improving their quality scores.
"We were looking for a technology to easily capture physician queries so we could accurately track and report on our patients' episodes of care and have the documentation we needed to claim full reimbursements that were due to the hospital," said Carla Douglas, RN, Case Manager of Jellico Community Hospital. "With a mobile app, it's easy for our physicians to instantly respond to queries which provides more complete documentation on patient treatment. This in turn provides the billing information we need to qualify for full reimbursements while more accurately reflecting the quality of our team's patient care."
"Jellico Community Hospital is a great example of a hospital that understood how accurate documentation would lead directly to full reimbursements and coded outcomes that correctly reflect the high-quality care they are already providing," said Marisa MacClary, co-founder and CEO of Artifact Health. "Physicians don't have time to manage all of the administrative demands placed on them. Our mobile technology streamlines the entire query process making it painless for physicians to complete documentation requests."
